When should I decide?

It is a good idea to request information as early as possible to allow you time to make an informed choice.  You have to be able to make an informed choice and to fully understand the information we  provide.  

Our Umbilical Cord Blood Collection and Storage Welcome Pack contains a lot of information, please review the information in it and also read the FAQ’s thoroughly.

Once you have decided you want to proceed with this service, we need to obtain from you payment and a signed copy of the Cells4Life Storage Agreement, the Cells4Life Collection Kit is then dispatched by special delivery. This will reach you by 12pm the next working day.  We will also need to determine that the person who will procure the blood will do so legally.

This entire process can take less than one day, however if there are complications because of paperwork, it can take longer. We therefore advise that you make a decision sooner rather than later, to avoid disappointment.

In an emergency If a Cells4Life collection kit is required urgently we can courier one out to you at short notice. However an additional courier fee will be charged dependant upon the distance our couriers have to travel to get your kit to you in time.

You will also only be able to access this service if we are able to ascertain the procurer has the appropriate license.  This service is available out of hours by phoning +44 (0) 1273 234 676 and pressing the relevant option. 

Please also bear in mind that if you are in labour, the courier might not physically be able to get to you before the birth.
