Why is an HTA licence important?

Cells4Life is licenced by the Human Tissue Authority (HTA) number 11083.  We are the only stem cell bank in the UK that stores whole blood.

An HTA licence ensures that we comply with the Department of Health Code of Practice for Tissue Banks.  This is a critical standard as it aims to make sure that tissue of reliable quality is produced for supply to the health service for therapeutic purposes. It is the "Gold Standard" for stem cell bank operations.

The licence also means that we adhere to the Guidance on the Microbiological Safety of Human Organs, Tissues and Cells used in Transplantation as well as the current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) guidelines. 

In fact, many of our processes exceed the standards set out by the HTA.
