MHRA accredited

Why is MHRA accreditation important?

Cells4Life is the only stem cell bank in the UK that stores whole blood with MHRA (Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency) accreditation.

MHRA accreditation ensures that we comply with the Department of Health Code of Practice for Tissue Banks.  This is a critical standard as it aims to make sure that tissue of reliable quality is produced for supply to the health service for therapeutic purposes. It is the "Gold Standard" for stem cell bank operations.

The accreditation also means that we adhere to the Guidance on the Microbiological Safety of Human Organs, Tissues and Cells used in Transplantation as well as the current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) guidelines.

In fact, many of our processes exceed the standards set out by the MHRA.
