Stem cell treatments

Globally, using stem cells for clinical treatments is common place today and stem cell research is one of the fastest growing areas of medical science. The research areas attracting most attention include leukaemia, strokes, diabetes, heart disease, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, spinal cord lesions and ocular diseases. Additionally, their use in regenerating organs, repairing damaged muscle tissue and tendons and helping create skin grafts for burns’ victims has also shown encouraging outcomes.

Methods for the amplification of stem cells are being vigorously pursued with clinical trials well underway. This will allow a sample to be used for larger volume treatments and multiple usages.
